A drug lab was found today in an apartment on the Schiekade in Rotterdam. The 25-year-old resident has been arrested.
The police were alerted this afternoon around 3 p.m. by local residents who had smelled a strange odor at the apartment. There were drugs and equipment for their production in the house. The house has been cordoned off with tape and the fire brigade has taken measurements.
Extra alert
Several neighbors told the regional broadcaster Rijnmond that they are relieved that the drug lab has been busted. Last Monday there was a devastating explosion elsewhere in the city that left three people dead. It was possibly caused by a drug lab. Residents are therefore extra alert, the broadcaster said.
