Mondo Classic 2024 is won by…

Mondo Duplantis.

The Swede jumped 5.92 meters in Uppsala.

Large parts of the world’s elite were invited to the Ifu arena, but as expected, Duplantis took the victory.

He entered at 5.67 meters and after two more fine jumps the winning jump was 5.92 meters high. American KC Lightfoot also managed 5.92 but because he had a tear, Duplantis won the event.

Duplantis didn’t clear 6.02 even though he was really happy with the feeling in his body after clearing 5.92.

The victory jump was 31 centimeters lower than Duplanti’s own world record, but at the same time it was the world best in the season that has not lasted too long.

“Mixed feelings”

Duplantis was disappointed and swore to himself after failing on the third attempt in 6.02.

– You can say it’s mixed feelings, says Duplantis to SVT.

– Of course it’s good to win at home. But I knew I could do much more than I did today. So it’s a bit boring actually.

Sam Kendricks finished third in the Mondo Classic after jumping 5.82 meters.
