He came. He saw. He won three times.
Then rapper Killer Mike was led away from the Grammys in handcuffs.
Michael Santiago Render48 – better known by his stage name Killer Mike – got off to a good start at the Grammy Gala in Los Angeles during the night to Monday, Swedish time.
He won in all three categories where he was nominated: Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

But shortly after accepting his awards, Killer Mike was arrested by the police and taken in handcuffs to a security room in the arena, writes the Hollywood reporter.
The magazine’s contributor Chris Gardner shared a clip on X where the artist is seen being led through a foyer by two policemen.
– Are you serious? What the hell! someone is heard shouting in the film.
It is not clear why Killer Mike was arrested, but the reporter quotes an authority source who states that it is about “a minor crime that did not occur in connection with the gala”.
– It’s a big nothing, says the informant according to Chris Gardner.
At the same time, the newspaper TMZ writes, citing police sources, that Killer Mike got into an argument with a security guard at the gala, but that he has not been formally arrested.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, the police in Los Angeles confirm that it is a “physical altercation” but the spokesperson does not say anything about where or when it has occurred:
– The person is being interrogated right now. I cannot confirm the identity until the person is served with suspicion. The investigation is ongoing.
Killer Mike won a Grammy in 2003 for “The whole world” together with Outcast. In 2018, he was nominated, but left without a prize, for “Chase me”.
