A 23-year-old man from Hoeven was arrested on Tuesday during a major police operation in Dongen. An arrest team raided a house with a shed on Daniëlsweg and found the remains of a synthetic drug lab. A van full of chemical drug waste was found outside.
A police spokesperson told Omroep Brabant. The police suspected that there were more people in the house and therefore entered with an arrest team.
The address on Daniëlsweg was checked by the municipality of Dongen and the police, because officers also found items there in 2019 for setting up a drug lab. A resident was then arrested.
‘Lots of chemicals and jerry cans’
According to the police, it appears that drugs were no longer being produced, but items for the manufacturing process were found. “There is currently no functioning drug lab, but we do see a lot of waste, chemicals and jerry cans,” says the police spokesperson.
In addition to the SWAT team, there were more units nearby the building. For example, a police helicopter was in the air and members of the National Dismantling Facility were on site. They are now investigating what exactly was found in the house with the adjacent shed and in the van.
