Benjamin Netanyahu Claims Israel’s Victory Over Hamas in Gaza Strip Would Deal “Fatal Blow” to Iran and other militants

Tel Aviv

Prime Minister (PM) Israel Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country’s victory against Hamas in the Gaza Strip would deal a “fatal blow” to other Palestinian militants and supported groups Iran in the area.

“A total victory would deal a fatal blow to the axis of evil, namely Iran, Hezbollah, Houthi and of course Hamas,” Netanyahu said during a speech to Israeli military commanders, according to a statement released by the Israeli PM’s office, as reported AFP and Al ArabiyaTuesday (6/2/2024).

Failure to achieve victory, according to Netanyahu, would threaten Israel’s security. However, he did not explain further about the victory he meant.

“Without complete victory, the (Israeli) refugees will not return, the next massacre is only a matter of time, and Iran, Hezbollah and other countries will celebrate,” he said.

The Houthi group, which is part of the anti-Western and anti-Israel “axis of resistance”, consisting of pro-Iran groups, has been disrupting shipping activities in the Red Sea for months, prompting responses from the United States (US) and English.

The Houthis said their attack was a form of solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who continue to be attacked by the Israeli military.
