Earnest Stewart brings great news: ‘He will also play for PSV next season’

Ismael Saibari will also play for PSV next season, technical director Earnest Stewart assures in the podcast Heet van de Herdgang of the Eindhovens Dagblad. The 22-year-old midfielder is still at the Philips Stadium until mid-2028 and the Eindhoven team has absolutely no intention of selling him yet. Saibari signed a new five-year contract in September 2023.
Stewart was asked by the audience whether Saibari would stay in Eindhoven for another season. He then came up with a crystal clear answer. “He will also play for PSV next season. He recently signed another five-year contract. Saibari has made great development.”
According to Transfermarkt, Saibari is currently worth 10 million euros, while he was valued at 2.3 million euros at the end of June. PSV hopes and expects to have a lot more left in the future from the departure of the five-time international from Morocco.
Saibari has been playing for PSV since July 2020, when he was taken over from KRC Genk’s youth academy. At the Belgian top club, the right winger saw less prospect of breaking through into the main squad.
On behalf of PSV, Saibari made his debut on November 1, 2020 under Roger Schmidt, in the home match against ADO Den Haag (4-0 win). The counter now stands at 56 official matches for the Brabant leader, in which Saibari was good for 7 goals and 6 assists. With PSV, the midfielder won the TOTO KNVB Cup twice and the Johan Cruijff Shield twice.
This season Saibari is experiencing his absolute breakthrough in Eindhoven. While he often had to make do with short substitute appearances last season, he is often a basic player under coach Peter Bosz. The counter now stands at 1,354 playing minutes in 26 official matches, while Saibari was active in the Africa Cup with Morocco in between.
In September, Saibari announced that he was happy with his longer contract with PSV. “I have learned a lot in recent years. That has made me the player I am today. I look forward to giving everything for this wonderful club in the coming years.”
