Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra has been named the new Music Director of the Fundación Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM). Her initial contract will be for four years.
De la Parra has conducted such orchestras as the Orchestra of Paris, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Le Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO), the BBC Philharmonic, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester of Berlin St. Cecilia.
In 2022, she was named Principal Guest Conductor of the Milan Symphony and she is the Music Director of the Queensland Symphony.
This season, de la Parra is set to conduct the Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Münchner Symphoniker, Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester, and Oviedo Filarmonía.
