The National Police (PN) in the province of Huíla, last weekend in the city of Lubango, arrested two national citizens aged between 23 and 28, implicated in the crime of trafficking in strategic minerals.

The arrest of Dilson Salatiel da Silva Candjamba, aged 28, and Bernardo Bengui Teka, aged 23, took place on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd inside the Millenium Shopping Center, when the two intended to sell six diamond stones
The six diamond stones, according to the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (DIIP), Superintendent Pedro Cassoma Mendes, were allegedly sold to a Chinese national.
The head of this National Police Department reported that the same Chinese national fled when he realized the presence of police officers at the scene.
“Investigators assigned to the Huíla Criminal Offenses Investigation Department arrested two nationals on the 3rd of this month and year at 4 pm in the Bairro Lucrécia Centro Comercial Millenium. The arrest occurred when the suspects were camouflaged selling the diamonds to a citizen of Chinese nationality,” he detailed.
According to the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Superintendent Pedro Cassoma Mendes, the two citizens revealed to the Police that the strategic minerals (diamonds) were acquired in the Province of Lunda Norte, from an unknown citizen, at a price of Kz 700,000.00 per every stone.
In Lubango, continued Pedro Cassoma Mendes, each stone would have been sold for the value of AO 1,900,000.00.
“It should be noted that the two suspects are residents of the provinces of Luanda and Benguela, and have been here for two days to do their respective business. Diligence continues to determine the others involved, while these two will be presented to the Worthy MP Magistrate for legal purposes,” he said.
