After extensive investigations, the Bern cantonal police carried out a targeted check against illegal gambling on Wankdorffeldstrasse in Bern on Friday evening. They temporarily arrested a person and confiscated several slot machines, casinos, laptops and several thousand francs in cash during house searches.
The targeted check confirmed the suspicion that illegal sports betting was being offered and prohibited casino games were being operated in the premises, as the Bern cantonal police announced on Monday.
In total, the police checked 19 people who were in the premises as well as the tenant. She temporarily arrested one person. She presumably did not have a permit to work. She is also reported for violating the Aliens and Integration Act.
