Frenkhausen. The Frenkhausen Music Association and their conductor Patrick Müller promise big names and great music at their traditional annual concert on Saturday, March 2nd, from 8 p.m. in the Olper Stadthalle.
Particular mention should be made of Anton Bruckner’s arrangement of the 4th Symphony. To mark the famous composer’s 200th birthday, Patrick Müller arranged a five-minute piece especially for the concert.
An arrangement of Anton Brückner’s 8th Symphony – also arranged by Patrick Müller – caused a sensation at last year’s concert and afterwards. The Rundel music publisher included the arrangement in its repertoire and the Münster Air Force Music Corps asked the Frenkhausen music association for the sheet music of the arrangements.
What else can visitors expect? The concert half is dominated by film music. Well-known pieces such as “Airforce One” by Hans Zimmer, arranged by Holger Block, are also on the playlist, as is “Superman” by John Williams.
Patrick Müller highlighted “Sailing with Wales” as a challenge for the musicians. The challenging original literature written by Rossano Galante is characterized by its catchy melodies and yet is extremely demanding.
This is exactly what is important to the conductor at the concerts. The pieces can and should be challenging and difficult to play, but not difficult for the audience to hear. The Frenkhauser musicians have always succeeded in balancing the gap between them.
As a counterpoint to this, there are also some marches such as the “Admiral Stosch March” and the “German Imperial Guard” in the program. The focus of the second part of the concert is primarily on works from rock and pop: the classic “Music” by John Miles, which David Kreuz garnishes with his singing, the arrangement by Robert Kuckertz “Toto in Concert” and not forgetting “Tina Turner – a tribute to her Music”.
The piece by the legendary singers who died last year was arranged by another member of the Frenkhausen Music Association, drummer Tim Kramer, and is accompanied by the voice of Maria Leidig.
And the Frenkhauser musicians have included another great of the pop scene in the program: Phil Collins with his emotional ballad “Against all Odds”.
If you would like to take a look at the Frenkhausen Music Association before the concert, you have the opportunity to do so on the orchestra’s YouTube channel. There are 31 videos that have now been viewed more than 100,000 times.
