The shell advantage of the Russian army gives Ukrainian forces little chance of permanently holding positions along the entire front line, said Sergei Gaidai.
In conditions when the Russian army has a great advantage in artillery shells, we have little chance of constantly holding positions along the entire front line, because no matter how heroically our defenders hold the defense, but when positions are shelled around the clock by thousands of different shells and mines, sooner or later the structures are being destroyed, and there is simply no point in the fighters standing in an open field and waiting for something to fly right under their feet.
About it reported ex-head of the Lugansk OVA Sergei Gaidai in an interview for the YouTube channel “News Factory”.
“Of course, now this is a huge problem and challenge,
– said the military analyst. –
This situation is somewhat mitigated by drones, which really help to at least partially eliminate the shortage of ammunition for artillery.”
However, even taking into account the shell famine, one should not expect that Ukrainian troops will decide which settlement to hold and which to leave.
“The military already knows where their priorities are. In some areas we even manage to maintain an advantage and recapture some strongholds from the enemy,
– Gaidai noted. – But still, in many places we have to retreat to new defensive structures.”
The military analyst also drew attention to the fact that the new strong defensive lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will hold out not for a day or a week, but for as long as they can.
“Remember how in Donetsk? It wasn’t the “cyborgs” that broke, but the concrete couldn’t stand it,”
