Dubai United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Users of social media platforms interacted with the announcement by the Egyptian artist, Ahmed Saad, of a new initiative “From Himself” to contribute to helping the Egyptian economy recover in light of the crisis it is going through.
Ahmed Saad said in a video he posted on his pages on social media platforms: “My feeling is that Egypt is going through an economic crisis, something that has become tiring and worrying me very, very, very… and I always think about what I can do.”
The Egyptian artist continued, saying: “Frankly, I felt that I had to do something, and I decided to donate 50 thousand dollars to the economy in my country from my wages from outside Egypt, which I receive in dollars.”
Saad added, “This is, of course, something negligible in relation to the size of our economy, but it is an initiative emanating from me without guidance from anyone, and no one told me to do anything. Rather, it is something that came from myself to the point that I do not know who I should take (the money) to.”
The Egyptian artist concluded by saying that this makes him feel “something beautiful about Egypt,” and pointed out that anyone who does something similar will feel the same beautiful feeling.
