The rock group Smash into pieces made quite a splash when they made it directly to the final last year with the song “Six feet under”.
This year, however, they were favored with the Linkin Park-inspired “Heroes are calling”. As expected, the song went home with the audience and the group was sent straight to the final.
Lisa Ajax fourth final place
25-year-old Lisa Ajax, who has a solid mello CV, made it further with the ballad “Awful liar”. The final place will be her fourth in the competition.
– I’m a bit in shock, she said after her second performance.
Ajax is competing pregnant and will be in her eighth month if she makes it all the way to the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
– Absolutely, I will be much more pregnant, but you can fix that, she has previously told TT.
Elisa Lindström and Adam Woods went on to the final qualification. The competition for pop duo Samir and Viktor and debutant Melina Borglowe is over.
Björn Gustafsson made a comeback
The most unexpected element of the evening was the comedian Björn Gustafsson when he made a comeback as host Carina Berg’s admirer. Gustafsson broke through in the program in 2008 with his celebrated “Love song to Carina Berg”.
In a clip during the broadcast, it was hinted that Gustafsson will appear in the program throughout the tour.
During the evening, the group A-Teens also reunited, 20 years after their breakup.
