TORONTO. Masen with the mustache became Swedish All Star king in Toronto last night.
Filip Forsberg accounted for three goals and two assists during the NHL’s big company party – and got a new friend named Justin Bieber.
– It was fun to meet him. He is a fantastic person and had good energy in the booth, says “Flipper” with a smile after the final victory in the Scotiabank Arena and screws up the famous tango discount a bit.
Team captain and home favorite Auston Matthews was officially named MVP – and given a car – following Team Matthews’ 7-4 victory over Team McDavid in the All Star Finals, but the award could have just as easily gone to Filip Forsberg.
He accounted for two goals and an assist already in the “semi” against Team Hughes and supplemented with another full hit and another play in the final against, among others, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, David Pastrnak and Rasmus Dahlin.
“As good as it gets”
For that feat, he still got to share in a million dollars.
– It was a fantastic experience and it’s always fun to win, says the 29-year-old player when we meet him after the celebration on the Scotiabank ice.
– Overall, the whole weekend has been as good as could be, especially as I got to spend time with my parents and my wife’s parents plus some friends.
Very best:
World-famous pop star Justin Bieber acted as an assistant coach for Team Matthews and cheered on “Flipper”.
– It was fun to meet him. He is a fantastic person and had really good energy in the booth, says the Swede.

“Matthews has set the standard”
Like everyone else, “The Biebs” was guaranteed to be impressed by Filip’s spectacular mustache.
It has, with good reason, received at least as much attention as the three goals over the weekend in Toronto.
– Matthews has set the standard here in town and you have to work on raising it. The league’s best? The competition is fierce, there are some guys who are really good. But it is there, he smiles.
William Nylander was also part of the winning team and contributed with an assist – while Rasmus Dahlin had to find himself in a loss.
– I was hot in the first change. Then it went downhill, grins the Buffalo quarterback.
Elias Pettersson scored the only other blue-yellow goal, for Team Hughes, while Elias Lindholm had an assist for Team MacKinnon. Jesper Bratt was also part of Team Hughes, but managed – for once – to make no mark on the record.
