Video game developer EA is apologizing to FC 24 fans after a faulty challenge accidentally awarded thousands of players an incredibly expensive and hard-to-get TOTY player.

The issue was quickly reported to EA and the challenge was removed within half an hour, but it was already too late; Thousands of players had already received it, angering those who weren’t so lucky. They then asked EA to make the map accessible to everyone so that the competition was fair for all players.
“We understand that this has caused frustration within the Ultimate Team community, and we apologize and thank you for your patience,” the team said. “We examined multiple scenarios to determine how we could proceed fairly and preserve the long-term health of the game.”
EA’s solution
EA’s proposed solution? Players who completed this SBC while it was available “will retain their rewards” and “the SBC will not return in its original form.” According to the developer, at the time of the erroneous challenge, only “0.7 percent” received the ultimate -Team player a TOTY Messi item.
“We recognize that this is not a perfect solution and we will continue to review our processes to minimize such issues in the future,” the team said.
Community reactions
It didn’t take long for the community to respond. Some question the number presented by EA and say that the chances of getting Messi in this SBC are around 20-25%.
