In an interview given to La Provence on the sidelines of the Marseille Open, tournament director Jean‐François Caujolle ruled on the GOAT debate: “ The three greatest players in history played in the same era.
Federer had unparalleled beauty and grace, Rafa had incredible power but Djokovic has all these qualities. There’s something extraterrestrial about it. We will never again see a champion with such a desire for excellence and success.
“It’s one of a kind,” he said.
The big 3 has left its mark on tennis
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic made tennis a much more popular sport around the world and between them they dominated the sport like never before winning every title possible and leaving only crumbs to all those who were unlucky enough to cross their path.
Between them, they have 66 Grand Slam titles, and other incredible records that will be difficult to achieve in the future. If Federer has been retired for two years already, Nadal and Djokovic are still in the arena although it is the Serbian who still has a real chance of achieving further feats in the months to come while the Spaniard plays probably his very last season.
