One of Sweden’s biggest football transfers of all time was confirmed last night. Lucas Bergvall leaves Djurgården and joins Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
The transfer sum landed at SEK 113 million, a sum that can rise to SEK 220 million with bonuses included.
– This is a super talent. He has stood out from day one. An incredible technician, a sense of the game that is something very special. It’s a really sick talent, says SVT Sports expert Daniel Nannskog.
The 18-year-old first looked more or less ready for Spanish giants FC Barcelona. Instead, it was London and the Premier League – something that surprised Nannskog.
– What I have been a bit questionable about has been pace. If there’s one thing the Premier League does, it’s that it goes fast. Maybe then he would have been better suited in Spain or Italy where the game is a bit slower.
