Lazio’s Bid for Viktor Djukanovic Rejected by Hammarby – SoccerDirect Update

During his debut year in the Allsvenskan club, Djukanovic accounted for eleven goals in 25 Allsvenskan matches, 15 of which from the start.

This has led to widespread foreign interest in the talented winger. Mainly it has been about Italian clubs.

Both Sassuolo and Hellas Verona have been pointed out as interested parties, but neither of them should be prepared to pay Hammarby’s price tag.

Today, another club was added in the hunt for the 19-year-old – when Sportbladet reported that Lazio wants to sign Djukanovic.

Now, however, new information is being added, which states that there will be no January move for Djukanovic.

SoccerDirect states that Lazio has been negotiating with Hammarby all day – but that the clubs have not managed to agree on the price.

According to the information, Lazio has bid nine million euros, which corresponds to SEK 101 million. However, this is not enough.

According to FotbollDirekt, Hammarby has set a price tag of 12 million euros, i.e. 135 million kroner – and the Stockholm club refuses to lower its demands.

According to the site, no negotiations are ongoing with any other club – and Djukanovic is therefore expected to remain in Hammarby until this summer.

Hammarby’s sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has been clear that he does not want there to be further sales during the winter – and that a huge bid is required to release Djukanovic.

UPDATE 19.40: Now Mikael Hjelmberg announces that there will be no sale.

– He will stay. We have weighed everything, finances and sporting success, and see enormous advantages in keeping Viktor until at least the summer, says the sports director in Sportbladet’s deadline day broadcast.

UPDATE 20.00: Now Hjelmberg confirms that Lazio is one of the clubs that chased the 20-year-old.

The sporting director admits that Hammarby snubbed several bids for Djukanovic and explains how they reasoned around him.

– We have always had the ambition that Viktor will stay in Hammarby, but then of course everything has its price. There has been an interest, where we feel together with Viktor that the best thing right now is to stay in Hammarby with development here. Then there will certainly be new inquiries about him this summer. I really hope he has a good pre-season and spring in the Allsvenskan, says Hjelmberg.
