“I won’t say what it is, but I’m on a new anti-cancer infusion. After four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference and everyone wanted me to change it, but I just thought, ‘We’ll keep doing it and see,'” she told her radiologist dr. Amin Mirhadi on the Let’s Be Clear podcast.
“And yes, after the sixth or seventh time, we actually saw that it broke down the blood-brain (blood-brain) barrier.”
Doherty, 52, said her body’s response to the new treatment has been “miraculous”: “It’s a miracle to me at the moment. I rolled the dice and said, ‘Let’s go.'”
“The fact that it actually breaks down that blood-brain barrier is actually a miracle of this treatment or of God. Sometimes you look for miracles in the wrong places, but they’re right in front of your eyes.”
Doherty was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. A year later, she underwent a mastectomy, also chemotherapy and radiation. In 2017, she managed to defeat the tumor, but in February 2020, she discovered that the cancer had returned.
Doherty is known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and The Amulet.
