Sony Ericsson XPERIA and Sony XPERIA phones accompanied me for many years, in fact there was no model that I didn’t have at home for a shorter or longer time. But a few years later, the manufacturer went down the wrong path, sales dropped significantly, and customers began to prefer other brands.
Even nowadays, it is not easy with Sony XPERIA phones. Their price is high, the support for today is very weak, the design is too specific. In addition, flagship models regularly suffer from overheating. What comes next? From 2025, no more XPERIA phones are expected to arrive on the market!
But don’t worry, Sony will continue with mobile phones. But he will probably come up with a completely new series and try to forget the not very successful history. It is speculated that Sony should be the first major manufacturer to place the front camera directly in the display. This would mark the global beginning of the end of unpopular cutouts and cutouts, somewhat surprisingly coming from Sony, which didn’t go that route.
If Sony could pull it off, then for me it really would be the perfect moment to close history and start something new. For me, the potential of Sony is huge, let’s look at the gaming division, let’s look at the camera division and it could go on for a long time. It’s actually a “miracle” how Sony is failing with its resources in the field of mobile phones. But next year a new era could begin…

From my point of view, XPERIA is an established brand, but in recent years her perception is not exactly positive and actually I’m not too surprised that Sony wants to move forward with its phones. In a way, it is a confirmation of the fact that the direction set was simply not correct.

Although the manufacturer managed to make some money on Sony phones, but otherwise the brand has been completely out of customer interest for many years. Weak support is one of the reasons, although the manufacturer has already managed to move all the planned phones to Android 14, but what about the XPERIA 1 III, for example, which cost over 30 thousand crowns! With this support Sony will not succeed in 2024 or 2025, more changes need to happen.
If the manufacturer wants to succeed with new mobile phones, then the launch of completely new models makes sense. In addition, if the assumptions were confirmed and Sony was able to beat the competition in some respects, then that may mark the gradual return of Sony phones to prominence (where Sony was never located).
