Darius Rucker’s Ex-Girlfriend Slams Him as a ‘D-Bag Ex’ Following Arrest
In a surprising turn of events, Darius Rucker’s former girlfriend, Kate Quigley, took to social media to blast the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman after he was arrested on drug charges in Tennessee. The comedian didn’t hold back as she candidly expressed her feelings towards her ex-boyfriend, labeling him as a “d-bag ex” and suggesting that karma had caught up with him.
Quigley’s initial tweet read, “Yes. I’ve heard. All I can say is Karma. ❤️”. This was followed by a photo of herself lounging in a blue bikini, sticking her tongue out, with the caption, “Mood when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested. ❤️. #Karma”. The public nature of her posts made it clear that she had no qualms about publicly expressing her disdain for Rucker.
Page Six confirmed that Rucker, 57, was indeed arrested in Williamson County, Tennessee, where he resides. He faced three misdemeanor charges, including two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of violating the state’s vehicle registration law. It was reported that he had been accused of driving with an expired registration tag.
Fortunately for Rucker, he was able to secure his release by posting a bail amount of $10,500. However, the damage had already been done, and Quigley wasted no time addressing her ex’s arrest on social media.
Rucker and Quigley’s relationship began shortly after the country singer’s divorce from his ex-wife, Beth Leonard, in July 2020. They made their relationship public in September of that year with a photo of Quigley sitting on Rucker’s lap. The exact timeline of their breakup remains unclear, but it is known that they had ended things by September 2021 when Quigley suffered an accidental overdose.
Tragically, Quigley’s overdose resulted in the deaths of three of her friends, Fuquan Johnson, Enrico Colangeli, and Natalie Williamson. Despite the breakup, Rucker provided an update on Quigley’s condition, stating that she was doing great and coming out of that difficult period. However, Quigley took issue with Rucker’s comments and called him out for not reaching out to her personally to inquire about her well-being.
In a social media post, Quigley wrote, “Hi Darius, Could u plz refrain from making public comments about my health or well-being since u haven’t called once to see how i’m doing & have no clue? Thanks Boo Boo!!!” This further confirmed that their relationship had ended and that there was no expectation of civility between them.
Quigley’s tweet also revealed the pain she felt upon seeing the TMZ report about Rucker’s arrest. She expressed her fear that he might write a song about her titled “Let Her Die,” indicating the depth of her hurt and resentment towards him.
The public nature of their feud has undoubtedly attracted attention and sparked curiosity among fans and onlookers. While it remains to be seen whether Rucker will respond to Quigley’s comments, one thing is certain – their relationship has come to a bitter end, leaving behind a trail of animosity and resentment.
