Pascaline Bongo facing French justice – Journal du Gabon

Accused of corruption, the older sister of deposed President Ali Bongo Ondimba appeared before the bar at the Paris criminal court, this Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Since Monday January 29, 2024, the eldest daughter of the late Gabonese president Omar Bongo Ondimba has been appearing before the bar. She is suspected of having disbursed the sum of 8 million euros which would have served as bribes for the French company “Egis de route”, in order to obtain public contracts in Gabon.

The 67-year-old lady remains serene and confident. During her trial she did not fail to deny all the accusations against her. These facts which date back between 2010 and 2011. This Thursday 1is February 2024, will be the last day of his hearing, we will notably hear the indictments. The judgment is not expected for several weeks.

Remember that she was her father’s chief of staff until his death in 2009, then collaborator of her brother Ali Bongo Ondimba, overthrown by a coup d’état called the “freedom” coup, by the committee for transition and restoration of institutions (CTRI), in August 2023.
