GAZA – A commander of Shaldag, a special force of the Air Force Israel, killed in the war against Hamas in Gaza, Palestine, on Wednesday.
The commander of the Zionist army was named Major Yitzhar Hofman (36).
His death brings the death toll of Israeli forces in the ground offensive against Hamas to 224.
Earlier the same day, the Zionist military announced the death of three soldiers who were killed the day before in fighting in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
Quoting the report Times of Israel on Thursday (1/2/2024), the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stepped up air strikes on Gaza City, the northern region of the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, while its ground troops focused on fighting in the south.
Smoke billowed over Gaza City after the latest airstrikes, some of which targeted the headquarters of the Hamas-run interior ministry, according to residents and Hamas-run media.
The Al-Nuseirat refugee camp area in central Gaza was also attacked and tanks pounded the Khan Younis area around Nasser Hospital, the largest hospital still functioning in the southern region, witnesses said.
The Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health claimed that at least 125 people were killed over the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip.
