Late on Wednesday evening, his lawyer says that he will not plead guilty in the case, reports Reuters.
Baldwin was actually supposed to participate in a video meeting with the court on Thursday, but has chosen to drop this and instead make his statement through the lawyer, writes Variety.
It was during the filming of the film “Rust” in Santa Fe in October 2021 that Baldwin (65) fired a prop revolver which turned out to be loaded with real bullets and not loose shots.
The shot killed the 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
In mid-January, Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was in charge of the gun during the filming, were charged with negligent homicide, but the case against Baldwin was dropped.

However, the public prosecutor clarified at the time that the investigation was not over, and earlier in January it became clear that the grand jury will issue a new indictment against the Hollywood star for the fatal shooting incident. He is charged with negligent homicide.
Baldwin is not in jail while the trial is ongoing, but according to Variety, must refrain from both alcohol and weapons while the case is investigated. He is also not allowed to have contact with witnesses in the case, except if it concerns the promotion of the film.
