It’s a bit of a cute image from this Wednesday, January 31, in a context that is intended to be resolutely serious. While several dozen farmers were on their way to the Paris region, children were called upon to support professionals in the sector. In the streets of Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) farmers’ children paraded on mini pedal tractors. In total, around thirty toddlers were counted in the city center of Strasbourg.
At the back of the small vehicles slogans were displayed, just to catch the eye of onlookers passing by: “For our future”, “Tomorrow I’ll feed you”, “We’re not just about that”… demonstrators were accompanied by their parents, some in uniforms and boots, carrying flags bearing the image of the Departmental Federation of Farmers’ Unions.

For several days now, farmers, awaiting numerous measures, have been demonstrating in Europe. Several operations were carried out: motorway blockages, cargo checks, tire and slurry spills… This Wednesday, more than 150 gatherings were recorded in France, with 8,500 demonstrators for around 5,500 vehicles.
