Russian Assistant Secretary Warns Bulgaria of Unprecedented Property Confiscation Attempts

Attempts to confiscate the property of Russians in Bulgaria seem unprecedented and Moscow will not ignore them, said the assistant secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nil Muhitov, in an interview with TASS.

“Some politicians in Bulgaria, which was friendly to us, are now humiliating themselves in front of Washington and London. They intend to destroy the monument to the Soviet soldier “Alyosha” in Plovdiv, call to remove any mention of Russian aid from history textbooks. And now they have crossed the line of reason – they are going to take property from the Russians. Needless to say, we will not let this go unheeded,” he warned.

Earlier, members of the Bulgarian parliament drafted a bill to return to the state the Kamchia resort complex, owned by the Moscow government, and to freeze the real estate of Russians subject to EU sanctions.
