Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Exynos 2400 used in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus series can apparently beat Snapdragon 8. This was discovered in a test carried out by YouTuber, Golden Reviewer.
The Exynos 2400 has many improvements compared to the Exynos 2200. In the latest tests it turns out that it can beat big competitors in the chip market.
Golden Reviewer performed testing of the Exynos 2400 with other chipsets. In ray tracing, one of the aspects of gaming, the Samsung chipset successfully beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The Exynos 2400’s score reached 8,642 points consuming 9.3 W of power. Meanwhile the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored 8,601 points with 11.7 power, quoted from Sam MobileWednesday (31/1/2024).
Meanwhile, for rasterization (conventional graphics), the Exynos 2400 was recorded as better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The score was 4,360 compared to 3,729, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was higher with 5,181 points.
Another test related to GFXBench 3.1 (1080 resolution) results are almost the same as conventional graphics. The Exynos 2400 can beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it’s still better than the Gen 3.
The efficiency displayed by the Exynos 2400 is recorded to be better than the Apple A16 Bionix and Dimensity 9300. Apart from that, it is also as good as the Dimensity 9200 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
For the GFXBench Aztec test, the performance of the Exynos 2400 is better than Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is also superior to the Apple A16 Bionic and Dimensity 9200.
In this test, the Exynos 2400 was unable to outperform the Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The chip was recorded as almost as good as the Dimensity 9200.
Its efficiency is better than Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and twice as good as Exynos 2100 and Exynos 2200.
YouTuber NL Tech tried benchmark testing for three Galaxy S24 models.
Testing Galaxy S24 Ultra Vs Galaxy S24 Regular and Plus
Previously, NL Tech reviewers also tested with the Geekbench 6, AnTuTu and 3DMark benchmark applications. However, at the beginning of the video he says that the testing was done on the firmware before release.
This means that the score may be different from the version on the market. However, this test can more or less provide an idea of the performance of the Galaxy S24 trio.
In the Geekbench 6 test for CPU, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the Ultra model leads in terms of single-core and multi-core scores. However, for GPU testing, the Exynos 2400 in the regular and Plus variants actually wins.
Geekbench 6 (CPU)
Galaxy S24: 2.131 (single-core), 6.758 (multi-core)
Galaxy S24 Plus: 2.139 (single-core), 6.634 (multi-core)
Galaxy S24 Ultra: 2.289 (single-core), 7.123 (multi-core)
Geekbench 6 (GPU)
Galaxy S24: 15.292
Galaxy S24 Plus: 15.087
Galaxy S24 Ultra: 15.038
For AnTuTu testing, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Ultra variant wins over its two brothers. However, the gap could be said to be insignificant.
AnTuTu
Galaxy S24: 1.611.665
Galaxy S24 Plus: 1.662.048
Galaxy S24 Ultra: 1.769.496
Lastly, test with 3DMark shows how resilient the software or system is when used beyond normal operating limits, aka stress testing.
In this test, the Exynos 2400 on the regular Galaxy S24 and Plus won hands down over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Chips made by Samsung are relatively better in terms of thermal management or heat resistance.
For the Solar Bay Stress Test, the regular Samsung Galaxy S24 had 55.6% stability, while the Plus variant had 56.1% and the Ultra 50.3%.
Meanwhile, for the Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, the regular version scored a stability score of 53%, Plus 55.4%, and Ultra 49.1%.
