The Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation revealed the details of the annual Dubai calendar for the retail sector, which includes distinctive events, activities and experiences in various parts of Dubai.
The agenda is full of 17 festivals and events, such as: the Dubai Shopping Festival, which concluded on the 14th of this month, the Dubai Fashion Season, Ramadan in Dubai, Eid in Dubai, the Dubai Food Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, and more events in 2024.
The retail sector’s agenda also includes the eighth session of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which recently concluded its largest session, with more than 2.4 million people participating.
The retail sector’s annual agenda for 2024 includes distinctive experiences that will be organized in various places, destinations and shopping centers in the city, in line with Dubai’s ambition to become one of the best places to live, work and tourism in the world.
Attract visitors
Executive Director of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, Ahmed Al Khaja, said: “We are waiting for a year full of events, festivals and campaigns that advance the thriving retail sector in Dubai and which contribute to supporting Dubai’s strategy for sustainable development. The campaigns we organize annually witness great demand, and play an essential role in the strategy implemented by Dubai to promote tourism and attract visitors.”
He added: “Dubai has been able to strengthen its position as a global capital for retail, fashion and entertainment offerings, and we will continue to work to improve the visitors’ experience, and cooperate with our partners, interested parties and sponsors in order to organize festivals and distinctive experiences throughout the year,” noting that the calendar of festivals and events is a way to add… “The liveliness of cultural celebrations in retail, gastronomy and many other experiences in city-wide destinations contributes to strengthening Dubai’s position as the best city in the world to live, work and visit.”
Al Khaja continued: “The retail calendar initiative is in line with the goals of (Dubai Economic Agenda D33), which is to double the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade, and strengthen its position among the top three global cities. These efforts are what continue to put Dubai on the map, as we celebrate its achievements, such as being ranked first in the global destination rankings on Tripadvisor for the third year in a row.”
Wholesale celebrations
The Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation’s agenda includes: Dubai Shopping Festival, as the 30th session will be held from December 13 to January 19 next.
Chinese New Year celebrations start from February 2 to 11, and include many promotions and activities dedicated to celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese calendar.
Dubai Fashion Season, which begins soon and witnesses the launch of the spring/summer collection, will help highlight the latest fashion shows and increase sales throughout the city by supporting major stores and brands.
As for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr activities in Dubai during the period from March 10 to April 14, they include promotional offers, spiritual and cultural events in a distinctive family atmosphere.
The exclusive online mega sale is the latest event on the retail agenda in Dubai. The event will continue over three days, offering unparalleled deals to online shoppers whether they are at home or on the go.
The Dubai Food Festival, which will be held from April 19 to May 12, invites visitors to its 11th session to explore many distinctive experiences and dishes in Dubai, to taste the most delicious cuisine from various international cuisines and unique flavors throughout the festival period.
Next May will witness three days of major sales, with the participation of major brands and retailers offering discounts of up to 90% over three days in shopping centers and destinations across Dubai. Dates and offers are announced a few days before the event.
During “Eid Al Adha in Dubai” from June 17 to 23, the city will celebrate the occasion through several deals and events in a family atmosphere full of authentic Emirati traditions and customs.
Dubai Summer Surprises, which begins on June 28 and continues until September 1, will witness a season of fun activities, promotions and family entertainment, including the “Modhesh World” event, in addition to major offers and raffles that provide shoppers with enjoyable experiences throughout the summer in Dubai.
The back-to-school season, from the fifth to the 29th of next August, during Dubai Summer Surprises, will provide special offers for children in several stores, including deals on products that parents and children need to prepare for the start of the school year.
Dubai Summer Surprises concludes with unparalleled discounts on leading brands in the retail sector in Dubai.
The Dubai Furniture Festival (October 11 to 27) aims to support the furnishings and interior design sector in Dubai, and allows designers to display their products and innovations in this field.
Lights…and activity
The Diwali Festival of Lights will be held in Dubai from October 25 to November 7, and includes musical performances, parties, food events, and fireworks displays.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge (October 26 to November 24) is an opportunity to maintain fitness and enhance activity.
