After an artistic career full of successes and a long wait from her fans, Celine Dion announced a new documentary entitled I Am: Celine Dion, which tells the story of her life from her beginnings in the world of singing until her rare disease that kept her away from theaters for a long time.
Amazon MGM Studios announced on Tuesday that it had acquired the global rights to the feature documentary directed by Oscar nominee Erin Taylor.
According to the film’s official synopsis, the documentary “I Am: Celine Dion” is “an adventure that will take viewers on Celine Dion’s journey between past and present, as the Canadian singer will reveal her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).”
The documentary depicts the private life of a major international star, starting from visiting her high-end wardrobe and personal belongings, all the way to spending her time in the recording studio. The summary description reads: “An emotional, lively and poetic love letter to music, presented by me: Celine Dion, a journey of more than a year.” From filming between the legendary singer’s movements in her open and real life amid her illness.”
Today, Celine shared her picture with her followers on her Instagram account and wrote, commenting on the meaning: “The last two years have been a great challenge for me, which is the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with it and manage it, but I did not let it define who I am, as the road to resuming my artistic career continues.” I realized how much I missed being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided to document this part of my life to help others who share this disease with me.”
It is noteworthy that the documentary, which was produced by “Sony Music Vision” in partnership with “Sony Music Entertainment Canada” and “Vermilion Films”, will be available for streaming via “Prime Video” in more than 240 countries and regions around the world, but a date has not been announced.
