Best Affordable Housing Training Program in New York City for February – Apply Now!

This association offers different training and workshops such as carpentry, customer service, drivers and will even hold a course in February for people seeking employment in areas related to affordable housing.

Affordable Housing Training

If you are interested in a job related to affordable housing, the organization offers a skills training program.

What it seeks is to connect New Yorkers who live in a NYCHA building or an affordable housing apartment to develop in this field.

People who do not live in these buildings can also apply.

The requirements are the following:

  • Be over 18 years old and have permission to work in the Country.
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Be a resident of New York City.
  • Have schedule availability.

The next training begins on February 20 and consists of a 4-week training and 80 hours of paid internship.

Truck driver training

In collaboration with Red Hook on The Road helps people who are currently unemployed obtain their commercial driver’s license to get a job as a school bus, commercial bus or truck driver.

  • Be unemployed (cannot work part-time as an uber, delivery driver, etc.)
  • Be 21 years old or older.
  • Live in New York and be eligible to work in the country.
  • Schedule availability from 8:00 to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
  • They must pass a drug test.
  • Not have a DWI or DUI
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Carpentry training

The organization also offers training for unemployed and low-income people in carpentry.

During the training, those interested will learn to operate tools and machinery safely, work with wood and artificial materials.

You will also earn your OSHA 30 certification.

The training lasts 7 weeks.
