The Nancy-Dijon Grain Congress 2024 took place on Thursday January 18, 2024 in the afternoon at Nancy City Hall, located on the famous Place Stanislas, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event, which used to take place on a Friday morning in September, changed format this year to take place in January, left free by Agro Paris Bourse which now organizes its Execution Exchange in March, the same day as the Intercéreals Export Morning.
“Many professionals came because they were happy to be able to meet between the European Stock Exchange last October and the next meeting of the grain sector in March », specifies Franck Loschi, president of the Grains de Nancy association, one of the two associations of the Dijon-Nancy Grain Congress, which take turns organizing this meeting. The afternoon of the exchange ended with a cocktail dinner in the rooms of the Town Hall.

There were many topics of conversation, namely the low activity of agricultural sales, the disruptions in grain trade internationally linked to the various ongoing wars (Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas), concerns about the downpours that fell in our regions and the winter storms in North America, without forgetting the sluggishness of the markets in general and the competition from goods from around the black Sea who weighed down the exports French grain companies over the first half of the 2023-2024 commercial campaign…
The next grain exchange in Nancy should take place in 2026, according to terms that remain to be defined. If Franck Loschi hopes that it can be held in January like this year, it will take place in any case in the same format, on a Thursday in the second half of the day. And this, “in order to take the time to exchange without the stress of the return trip”, he comments. In the meantime, the Grains de Dijon association should organize its edition. “Discussions are underway to determine whether it will take place in 2024 or 2025”specifies Dimitri Convert, secretary-treasurer of the organizing team, chaired by Eric Grimonpont.
