Mexican President López Obrador Acknowledges Security Failure and Accuses Opposition of Hacking Journalists’ Personal Data

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador acknowledged that security failed and that they suffered “a hack,” after the spread of the theft of personal data of more than 300 journalists covering the morning conference was revealed over the weekend.

Likewise, he accused that “it is a dirty war”, pointing out that this theft of information is likely to have been planned by the opposition.

During the morning, López Obrador indicated that an investigation into this incident is already underway and assured that there will be legal actions against those responsible for this theft of personal data information.

“They already hacked the morning computers that they already took. Yes it was hacking, it was hacking. “They take the data, big scandal,” said López Obrador.

“Isn’t this a risk to our families?” he was asked.

“No, because we have to take care of all citizens and journalists, but why do they do it? Why this hack? Well, to try to sow the idea that we persecute, censor, and are dictators. It is everyone’s thing, López-Dóriga and Brozo, and Loret de Mola and Claudio X. González and the entire conservative bloc,” said López Obrador.

He indicated that support will be requested from the Ministry of the Interior to accompany those journalists who request security after their personal information is violated.

“It’s dirty war, it’s espionage. Let’s get the investigation done. Today Jesús told me that they have to submit a report to Inai. May the Ministry of the Interior provide support to all those who appear on the lists,” he declared.
