Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms, and Snow in Lebanon – Meteorological Department Warning

The Estimates Department at the Meteorological Department in the General Directorate of Civil Aviation expected that the weather tomorrow will be cloudy with fog over the highlands and temperatures continuing to drop. The eastern basin of the Mediterranean will be affected by an air depression accompanied by polar air masses that will affect all neighboring countries (Turkey – Syria – Lebanon – Palestine – Egypt – Jordan and Iraq), and the Meteorological Department called it “HAYAN”, bringing with it heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds, its impact intensifying as of Tuesday afternoon with a significant drop in temperatures, and it is expected If snow reaches 700 meters at dawn on Thursday, especially in the northern regions, its impact will ease as of Friday morning and the weather will gradually stabilize next Sunday.

-Expected weather in Lebanon:

Tuesday: Cloudy with dense fog in the highlands. Visibility worsens and temperatures drop. Scattered rain falls, sometimes heavy, especially in the southern regions, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail. The winds also become active and intensify at times to approach 70 km/h, causing sea waves to rise to about 3. Friday: Cloudy to partly cloudy with fog on the highlands and a slight rise in temperatures. Scattered rain falls, sometimes heavy, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and active winds. Snow falls at an altitude of 1,000 meters, especially on the northern highlands, and widespread fluctuations are expected during the day.
