The police arrested a man in Overloon on Monday evening after an hour and a half chase through Limburg and North Brabant. He drove at high speed through several villages in both provinces. A passenger car and a police car were damaged during the chase.

“Around 7.40 p.m., the police received a report that the suspect was in Oostrum while he was under an area ban. Police officers then went to the scene to arrest him and that was reason for the man to flee,” the police wrote. The man then fled at high speed.

The police used a helicopter during the chase that followed, because the man showed dangerous driving behavior and tried to drive into police officers. “Both police officers from Limburg and the National Unit were engaged in the pursuit and he was eventually arrested in Overloon.”

According to Broadcasting Brabant the man was tackled to the ground by officers on the 14 Oktoberplein in North Brabant. Images from the broadcaster show how a police car crashed into a tree. It is unclear where the passenger car was damaged and how exactly that happened. No one was hurt.
