A video of vice presidential candidate number 2 appears Gibran Rakabuming Raka sung by the song ‘Sore Tugu Pancoran’ with the lyrics changed to ‘such a small child fighting with Mahfud’ went viral on social media. TPN Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md criticized this because it gave the impression of playing the victim.
“Political gimmicks, Mas Gibran is not only a child, he is the son of the current active president who is contesting at the highest level. So if his intention is to play the victim, it doesn’t feel right,” said Ganjar-Mahfud TPN spokesman, Imam Priyono, to reporters, Monday (29/1/2024).
Imam assessed that Gibran was playing victim because he seemed like a weak figure. In fact, according to Imam, the source of Gibran’s strength is quite large.
“Yes, because it seems like a weak and small figure is depicted. Of course, in the current political conditions, his interests are electoral,” he added.
‘Such a Small Child Fights with Mahfud’
The video of Gibran Rakabuming singing the song ‘Sore Tugu Pancoran’ with the lyrics changing to ‘such a small child fighting with Mahfud’ is known to have gone viral on social media.
The moment Gibran sang ‘such a small child fought with Mahfud’ occurred in Sanur, Bali, Saturday (27/1). In the viral video, Gibran appears to smile a little when the audience shouts the word ‘Mahfud’.
TKN Deputy Secretary Michael F Umbas said that at that time Gibran was invited by volunteers and supporters in Bali. During the meal session, Umbas said, there was a singer who offered to sing specifically for Gibran.
“Yes, at that time Mas Gibran had an event invited by Semeton Gibran volunteers and supporters in Bali. Well, during the sharing session and meal break, there was a local singer who offered to sing, he said a special song for Mas Gibran,” said Umbas when confirmed, Monday ( 1/29).
Umbas said that Gibran, who was present with his wife, Selvi Ananda, enjoyed singing Iwan Fals’ song ‘Sore Tugu Pancoran’. During the chorus, the audience shouted the word ‘Mahfud’ which should be ‘Time’. The song then sounds like ‘such a small child fighting with Mahfud’. Gibran was said to be surprised to hear such a chorus.
“Mas Gibran, while eating jinggo rice, was shocked when he entered the chorus of the song, and then realized that the song was related to him,” said the general chairman of Arus Bawah Jokowi volunteers.
In the viral video, Gibran appears to smile a little when the audience shouts the word ‘Mahfud’. Umbas, who was also at the location, then revealed Gibran’s reaction after hearing the lyrics. “Funny, funny, said Mas Gibran,” he said.
