TV’Hotel Romantiek’ presented a surprising plot twist on Monday evening. For the first time, a well-known Flemish person over the age of 65 is looking for love through the popular dating program. None other than Jacky Lafon (77) will join the company in the coming weeks.
The actress, who played Rita in ‘Family’ for years, made her entrance at the end of the episode, during an evening of karaoke. Jacky appeared on stage as ‘The Masked Single’, a nod to ‘The Masked Singer’. Unrecognizable, with a lampshade on her head, she sang the classic ‘Que sera, sera’ by Jo Leemans. “I have no idea who it is,” said the other participants of the program.
After the mysterious performance, presenters Gloria Monserez, Philippe Geubels and Sven de Leijer withdrew with ‘The Masked Single’. When the singer took the lampshade off her head, it turned out to be Jacky Lafon. “Wow, I’ve never been so nervous. But I had a lot of fun,” she laughed. To be clear, the actress’ appearance was not a one-off gimmick. Lafon really looks for a new love through the program.
Only in next Monday’s episode will the other candidates discover that the ‘Family’ actress will join them. Wondering whether Jacky will be welcomed with open arms. And whether one of the men can win her heart.
