Arne Hegerfors is dead.
He fell asleep during the night of Monday, according to SVT.
The beloved television profile turned 81 years old.
For a long time he was one of Sweden’s most loved television profiles.
Hegerfors, born in Majorna in Gothenburg, moved to Stockholm in 1969 for a job at SVT.
He covered the biggest sporting events for several decades, was awarded the Stora journalist prize (1992) and was awarded the honorary prize at the Kristallen television gala (2008).

In 1997, the iconic commentator left SVT for C More (then Canal+). In 2012 he retired.
Serious illnesses
The time that followed was marked by serious illnesses. He suffered a stroke, a heart attack and fought cancer.
At the end of last year, he was treated for three weeks for covid-19 and heart failure.
During the night of Monday, Hegerfors fell asleep at the age of 81. It reports SVT.
