Suzuki Motorbikes Made in Indonesia in High Demand Internationally: Satria FU 150 the Best Seller

Jakarta

Suzuki motorbikes made in Indonesia are in demand internationally. This model turned out to be the best seller.

Recently, the new motorbike launched by Suzuki was imported intact or completely built-up (CBU) from India. However, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) still produces motorbikes in Indonesia. Suzuki motorbikes made in Indonesia are even exported abroad.

Shinozaki Yohei as Marketing Director Division Head Sales and Marketing 2W PT SIS revealed the fact that currently there are still many Suzuki motorbike models produced in Indonesia.

“Now there is the Nex, the Nex Crossover too, then there is the Address. Then the GSX R 150, then the GSX S 150 too. Then the (Satria) FU too,” said Shinozaki to the media crew at the Suzuki Burgman Street 125EX Test Ride event in Karawang, Monday (29/1/24).

Of these models, it is claimed that the Suzuki Satria FU 150 is the one that is exported the most. According to him, around 4,000-5,000 units of the Satria FU 150 go abroad every month.

“Yes, the largest export is (Satria) FU 150. The largest is to the Philippines,” continued Shinozaki.

Not only the Satria FU 150, other Suzuki sports motorbikes such as the GSX R 150 and GSX S 150 were also sent abroad. Even the Indonesian-made Suzuki Address is also in demand by Australians.

“Apart from the Philippines, the Satria is basically Filipino and a little goes to Vietnam. Then those who talk about the GSX R and S go to Japan too, to Europe too,” said Shinozaki.

“The Address is now (exported to) Australia. Because the Address’s emissions are not suitable for Japan and Europe,” he continued.

Currently PT SIS is having fun selling various new lines such as the Gixxer SF 250, Avenis 125, VStrom 250 SX, and most recently the Burgman 125.

These new lines are sold with CBU status from India. However, according to PT SIS, it is not impossible for the new Suzuki motorbike to be assembled or produced domestically.

“Yes, it depends on the quantity. If there are a lot of sales, maybe we can localize it too,” said Shinozaki.
