The coach decided not to continue working at the club from Jasna Góra. Since then, he has been unemployed, although he regularly serves as an expert in television programs.
However, he has not returned to work as a coach yet. He was one of the two main candidates for the position of coach of the Polish national team, but Cezary Kulesza ultimately chose Michał Probierz. He was also mentioned in the context of the Czech national team, Dynamo Kiev and several other foreign teams.
However, no specific details were reached. This time, the Latvian portal “Sporta Avize” believes that Papshun’s name is on the short list of candidates for the coach of the Latvian national team.

According to this source, Papszun’s rivals are the following coaches: Valdas Dambrauskas, Janne Andersson and Paolo Nicolato. He adds that all four have similar financial requirements.
In the current FIFA ranking, Latvia is classified in 137th place. For comparison, Poland ranks 31st.
The final decision is to be made on February 5.
The previous coach of the Latvians was Dainis Kazakevics. Latvia finished the Euro 2024 qualifiers in last place in their group, gaining only three points.
