Tower Records Shibuya store
Tower Records will reopen its flagship store, Tower Records Shibuya, on February 29th. Renovations will begin on the 2nd floor event space on January 30th, followed by the 8th floor from February 2nd, the 6th and 7th floors from the 17th, and the 6th and 7th floors until the 28th, during which time the relevant floors will be closed. Other floors, including TOWER RECORDS CAFE Shibuya store on the 2nd floor, will be open as usual.
In addition, the company plans to carry out various measures, including sales, from the reopening to promote the renovation.
The floors targeted for renovation are the analog record specialty store “TOWER VINYL SHIBUYA”, Western music (rock, pop, soul, etc.), and classical music genres. In particular, the analog record floor “TOWER VINYL SHIBUYA”, which is currently experiencing a boom all over the world, will be expanded to approximately double the floor space and stock of over 30,000 records.

In addition, the number of racks and inventory for other Western music and classical music floors will be increased to meet the demand not only for analog records but also for recent foreign tourists. At the Shibuya store as a whole, the current sales floor area of 1,550 tsubo will remain the same, but the number of items in stock will increase by approximately 50,000 including analog records, CDs, and video works, bringing the total number of items in stock at the Shibuya store to 850,000.
In addition, due to the renovation of these floors, the event hall “SpaceHACHIKAI”, which was previously located on the 8th floor, will be moved to the same floor as TOWER RECORDS CAFE Shibuya store on the 2nd floor, and will become “TOWER SPACE Shibuya”, In addition to holding collaborative exhibitions with a variety of content, they also plan to actively hold more multifaceted events in conjunction with the cafe.
