What was a rumor from the early hours of this Thursday, January 25, 2024, ended up being confirmed during the day. The lawyer, Maître Hervé Kam, was arrested at Ouagadougou international airport as he returned from Bobo-Dioulasso. At the time of writing, no official information had given the reasons for his arrest or his whereabouts. Which naturally leaves room for all interpretations. Should we link his questioning to his positions, quite frequent in the media in which he does not hesitate to denounce “a democratic retreat” in relation to individual and collective freedoms or should we believe that he is also tough in this affair of a failed coup d’état and destabilization of the institutions of the transition?
