Modder EiermannTelevision Adds Ray Tracing to Classic Game Manhunt Using RTX Remix

Modder EiermannTelevision is working on a mod to add ray tracing to the classic game Manhunt using RTX Remix. While there is no exact release date for this mod, the modder has posted a video showing its current state.

To add new lighting to the game, the modder used the open beta version of RTX Remix. He still has a lot of work to do, but things are already looking pretty good. It’s worth noting that this RTX Remix version still uses the game’s original textures. So in theory the game will look even better when it comes to textures.

According to EiermannTelevision, the biggest problem at the moment is the highly reduced geometry, which leads to unstable lighting. This is clearly visible in the video. There is also still work to be done to balance the lighting so that the scenes don’t look too dark.

This modding project is one of several that were made possible thanks to RTX Remix. Particularly noteworthy are Tomb Raider, Max Payne and Half-Life 2.
