Isac Holmström finished in 57th place in the 70 kilometer race in Marcialonga.
Runar Skaug Mathisen had built up a gap of around 50 seconds as he started to push himself up for the kilometer-long final climb. The group behind closed in more and more, while Skaug Mathisen fought alone towards the finish line. But he managed to hold off and crossed the finish line in 2.35.53 with a margin of five seconds over the runner-up Emil Persson and the third Johan Hoel.
Isac Holmström slipped to the finish in a time of 2:45.28, 9.35 behind the Norwegian winner Skaug Mathisen. Holmström therefore became the third best Finn in the race and primarily in his stable, Team Edux. His previous best finish in the race is 42nd.
