They were never able to find the right answer.

Regular participants in intellectual shows delight Russians with their erudition. They crack even the most ambiguous questions like nuts. But sometimes the experts from “What? Where? When?” offensive misfires occur. And a fourth-grader boy was to blame for one of them.

A question from a viewer puzzled intellectuals. Alexey Pleskach from a small town in Belarus asked the participants an unusual riddle to test their intelligence. He described a story in which a son asked his father for money for a bicycle. In response, the parent decided to motivate the child to earn money on his own and invited him to sell lemonade.

The man promised that at the end of the day he would pay his son an amount equal to the square of his earnings. On the first day, the boy earned 3 dollars, but when his father tried to give him 9 dollars, he refused, saying that he owed much more money.

Experts from the star team were asked to guess how much the child was counting on. Alexander Gradsky suggested that the resourceful boy laid out the banknotes in the shape of a square, so he expected to receive 111 dollars. But the answer was wrong.

According to the fourth grader, the child reasoned that 3 dollars is 300 cents. If you square them, you get 90 thousand cents, which is already equal to 900 dollars. By the way, the student himself earned 50 thousand rubles from his question.
