“In the team, we push each other further. It’s a great feeling,” said Allegre, who won in his 102nd World Cup start. He imitated his compatriot Cyprien Sarrazin, a year younger, who is having the season of his life, in which he has already won three downhill races.
The sensational medalists in third place were completed by the Swiss Loic Meillard, who was 25 hundredths behind the winner. Marco Odermatt, the leader of the series and the discipline, had to settle for the fourth place, who was another three hundredths slower than his compatriot.
But he left all his closest competitors behind and consolidated his lead in the standings. In the discipline evaluation, he leads today’s fifth Vincent Kriechmayr from Austria by 71 points, in the overall standings he increased his lead over Sarrazin to 622 points. The Frenchman finished eleventh in Ga-Pa.
The only Czech representative at the start, Jan Zabystřan, took 53rd place. He lost 2.32 seconds to Allegre.
