There are no trains to and from Schiphol on Saturday until 6 p.m. This is due to a collision. Fewer trains were already running due to work, but now train traffic around the airport is completely at a standstill, an NS spokesperson told NU.nl.
Three days ago, there were no trains running to and from Schiphol due to a broken overhead line. ProRail then worked all night to repair the overhead lines.
The NS is now trying to arrange alternative transport in the form of NS buses to Leiden Central and Amsterdam Zuid stations. “Of course, there are also scheduled buses to Bijlmer ArenA, for example.” The spokesperson expects a lot of inconvenience, because Schiphol is an important junction.
There are problems on the railways not only around Schiphol. No sprinters will run between Breda and Tilburg until 8 p.m. Fewer local trains run between Amersfoort and Barneveld Zuid until 5 p.m.
