The building of the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) in Narbonne was set on fire early Friday afternoon on the sidelines of a farmers’ demonstration.

“It’s clearly a deliberate start of fire”declared Friday January 26 on franceinfo the prefect of Aude, Christian Pouget, after the fire in the building of the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) in Narbonne at the beginning of the afternoon on the sidelines of a farmers’ demonstration . “There are no arrests at this stage”he explained.

“The damage is quite significant and the building will be largely unusable in the days and weeks to come”estimated the prefect, who also indicates that there is no “no injuries to report” car “the agents were teleworking and the building was empty”in anticipation of the movement.

According to Christian Pouget, this fire started because of a pallet fire near the building, evoking “isolated groups which caused some damage in the center of Narbonne”making the distinction with the demonstration organized on the highway “which is going well”.

“It was complicated for the police to intervene quickly”he also explained. “But the police intervened and that’s why the people who committed this fire left”.
