The 54th birthday started with a bang for Eskil Brøndbo.

– According to the conditions, it’s going very well, says the birthday boy on the phone to VG and adds:
– But it wasn’t any fun.
On Friday morning, the DDE drummer was on his way to band practice with “Sex Gale Menn” in connection with a farewell concert. Sudden it narrowed.
– I don’t have time to react to the fact that there is even a moose there, so I drive straight into the moose – which falls over the bonnet and then into the windscreen. I spat moose hair and car glass out of my mouth, says Brøndbo.
Trønder-Avisa mentioned the matter first.
Went to the hairdresser after the accident
Brøndbo says he was driving at 70-80 kilometers an hour on county road 17, not E6 that is, at Skage in Overhalla, a stone’s throw from where he lives, when the accident occurred.
– It led to a relatively violent collision. When people have talked about shock, I’ve never believed it. But now I think I must have experienced it myself, he says and laughs.
Despite the birthday accident, the drummer set course for band practice. However, he only managed to complete one song before the reality of what he had experienced really sunk in.
– I felt nauseous and a little hot in the forehead. The other drummer had to take the rest, as I was not fit, he explains.
– What did you do then?
– I went to the hairdresser, so it was no more serious than that, you can see. You don’t sacrifice a hairdressing appointment for a doctor’s appointment.

Brøndbo suffered pain in his back and neck, which could also be related to the persistent pain he has had since a car accident in 1988.
But he went to the doctor – but that after the new weld.
– It will probably go well, but I’m just a little beat up, he explains.
– Soon blacklisted in the insurance world
However, the moose collision is not Brønbo’s first. He has been through this twice before.
– I’m getting used to it, so I’ll probably soon be blacklisted in the insurance world, he says.
– Was there any celebration at all?
– Yes, I’ve had a fantastic day. I had dinner with the youngest stepdaughter. “The old lady” and I have also bought a soft cake which we have shared, he says, laughing.
