The mobilization of angry farmers does not weaken. In Réolais, the A62 toll at Aillas (Gironde) has still been blocked since January 24, 2024. Members of the Viti 33 collective and the Gironde peasant confederation announced they wanted to block Langon on Monday January 29.

We now know the roads that will be closed and accessible. Here is a situation update.

1.Three roundabouts blocked

From 5 a.m., farmers and wine growers will set up on the roundabouts of the main roads: the Aquitaine roundabout (towards Toulenne and Saint-Macaire), the Sauternes roundabout (motorway access), and the Graves roundabout (Route de Bazas).

2. Roads closed

In addition, several roads accessing these roundabouts will be closed to traffic.

  • Aquitaine roundabout: cours Sadi-Carnot (D932), the bridge and the D 1 113 towards Saint-Macaire, cours du Général Leclerc and avenue de la République (D1562).
  • Sauternes roundabout: the A62 toll will be closed in both directions, avenue Léo-Lagrange (D125E3), rue des Bruyères, boulevard Pierre-Lagorce (D932E2) and avenue de la République (D1562) until at the Gascogne roundabout.
  • Graves roundabout: boulevard Pierre-Lagorce (D932E2) to the Shoes Elite roundabout, the N524 towards Bazas, the D932E10 towards Auros and N524 towards the Dumès area.

3. Accessible, but complicated routes

However, at the time of writing this article (Friday January 26), some Langon roads will be accessible, but complicated (shown in blue on the map).

This will be Allée Marines from then the former Airbus site, the D224 which joins Saint-Pierre-de-Mons, the Brannens road (RD 116), the D10 towards Auros, cours du Mal-de -Lattre-Tassiny to reach the hospital and the town center of Langon, cours Gambetta (D8E2) to the station crossroads (Kennedy bakery) and also cours de Verdun to the Total roundabout, route de Landiras.

Strong demands

Farmers denounce the inequalities of standards compared to Europe and unfair foreign competition.

“We are calling on all the peasantry to join us, to come and demonstrate with us,” says Didier Cousiney. We have different issues, but also converging points such as the price of fuel oil and electricity. We just want to make a living from our job. »

Farmers and wine growers are ready to stay as long as necessary.
