Griselda has become one of the most anticipated premieres of the Netflix season. The series, starring Sofía Vergara, tells the story of one of the most feared drug traffickers and criminals in the United States during the 70s and 80s. A fiction whose protagonist and the people around her speak in Spanish, but its antithesis , the police officer who is after her, June, speaks in English.
In this way, viewers who speak Spanish (whether from Spain or Latin America) have found themselves a handicap when watching the series.
How to watch the series?
In the “Audio and subtitles” options, “English VO” audio will appear by default. There is no option that is Spanish or Castilian. The disconcerting thing is that almost the entire series is actually spoken in Spanish, but being a Netflix United States production it does not appear as “Spanish VO”. Anyway, if your native language is Spanish, you have to keep this option selected (English VO). Of course, you will want to remove the annoying English subtitles that appear all the time by default.
The next step to enjoy the series in Spanish is in “Subtitles” to change to “Spanish”. In this way, the automatic subtitles that appear in the original version (even if they are selected as disabled, they come by default) will be removed in the parts in which the characters speak in Spanish (which is almost all the time). They will now only appear when the characters speak in English. And these will be in Spanish.
In short: you have to leave the Audio in “English VO” and the Subtitles in “Spanish”.
Now yes, you are ready to enter the story of Griselda Blanco, the black widow, and enjoy Karol G’s debut as an actress (although it comes out little, it comes out very cool).
